Often, the images in our photo library document the details of daily human life in developing countries. Many of these photos communicate the human face of international development, and aim to portray the lives and struggles of ordinary people. Every once in a while, however, a shot such as this one of a Kirghiz farmer harvesting hay against the background of the Chinese Pamir mountains also conveys the power and staggering beauty of the natural world.
