About this exhibit
This exhibition highlights CIDA's challenges and successes in the world of international development, and pays tribute to the men and women who are some of Canada's top photojournalists. They have devoted their lives, and in some cases risked their lives, to capture the face of development and the strength of the human spirit.
To commemorate the history of the CIDA photo library, one image per year of the collection's existence has been selected for this exhibit. The exhibit forms a narrative of successive styles in photography and reportage, as well as of international development history itself.
This exhibit has been reproduced with permission by MacOdrum Library, Carleton University, and is based upon an earlier work formerly published through the Photo Library of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
